1936 This is Ola Williams' favorite picture of her daughter. Wanda has been hanging from that bar a very long time. The style of the straw hat that Willis is wearing was very common for little boys - and some times girls wore them too. Women and girls always wore "Sun Bonnets" whenever they went outside. Wanda can remember wearing them up through most of Santa Rita Grade School. She eventually wore the straw version through grade school Tan cotton hose and garter belts were also worn. Remember girls did not wear pants at this time, so they had to have something to keep their legs warm. Wanda did not wear shorts until after she was married and slacks, or blue jeans, when she was at San Angelo Junior College.
